The recent rain here totalled 0.63 inch, most of which fell in a heavy shower along the squall line. Parts of the area recieved an inch or more on Tuesday. This has certainly helped with the drought. However, it is one rain on parched ground, and with little follow-up rain in the forecast, I suspect any benefit will be temporary. We are now getting wind with very low humidity, not the stuff that drought relief is made of. Much damage has been done. The later date and cooler climatology typically slows effects on agriculture and horticulture at this time of year.
