Wet Weather Pattern Fizzles For Many As Drought Worsens

Well, that didn’t work out very well.

Optimism was high over the past week for a wet weather system to affect the Cincinnati area. However, as the event came closer, holes began to emerge in that optimistic outlook. As the radar indicated precipitation shows, some areas did get beneficial rains but most of the Cincinnati tri-state saw very little of it with most areas seeing a tenth of an inch or less.

The 5-day precipitation outlook shows more precipitation may come close later this week but it currently appears this may miss or only graze our area as well.

Drought conditions will only continue to worsen over the Ohio valley in Cincinnati and other areas which missed this latest rain.

Please remember to water…correctly!

Water once per week, one inch per week, under the entire branch spread, in the absence of rain, May through November. Either rainfall or your watering should equal the one inch per week. Put out a sprinkler and a straight sided soup can or rain gauge and measure one inch per week.
