7-day rainfall 0.41 which is below normal.September rainfall 2.57 which is near normal. However, most of that fell Labor Day weekend from the remains of Hurricane Harvey. Since then, weekly rainfall has been below normal with mostly lighter rains which have led to limited percolation. Recent abnormally hot weather is increasing drying rates greatly. With overall 2017 rainfall well above normal, vegetation is still green, greener than normal for this time of year. Patches of grass are turning brown and some individual plants are starting to look dry. Newer plants are definitely in need of water at this point.
