Groundhog Day Central, Meteorological Winter, and 2018

The groundhogs say 6 more weeks of winter. Meteorological spring begins on March 1. Computer models are showing a pretty impressive warmup out west in 2 weeks then trying to push east, of course they have been advertising a huge warm up all winter and those warm ups usually fizzle. It is looking less likely that we will see a prolonged arctic cold like we did in late February and early March. It looks more likely that the up and down winter will continue for the next few weeks east of the Mississippi River. Out west spring is about here. So, kind of a shadow with partly cloudy for the Arbor Doctor. Here is a lot more about Groundhog Day and the coming weather.
